Everyone,
This forum has grown in a wonderful and unexpected way. Thanks to the many people who, by posting questions, comments, and answers, turned this discussion board into a great educational experience for all of us.

Keep it going, but I say let’s have some fun too! (Not that it hasn’t been.) I’m open to other suggestions, but I’m going to start a «Just for Fun» forum for anyone to post humorous pilates-related experiences, jokes, or other items of entertaining miscellany.

Also, let’s post our favorite digital photos that capture something about the method that words alone don’t do justice to. If you have a photo you want to post (but don’t have a web host you can put it on and link to), email it to me, and I’ll put it on my host server.

Also, this «general discussion» forum needs some organizing! I’m going to create other new subject-specific forums and archive some of our posts there.

Oh, and if anyone can think of other ways to manage this board, I’m always open to suggestions. If I get too busy, beware, I may ask certain active members to become moderators or co-administrators themselves!

Tom

Hi Tom,
If you require my assistance administering the forum, I´ll be glad to help you anytime. My time is limited, but I think that we can work things out!

Just a suggestion: When you post a comment, it is somewhat annoying that the browser takes you to the home page, instead of the one that contains your post, sometimes leading to confusion. I think that the forum will be more user friendly if you can redirect this to the page containing the forum where you´re working on after you post a comment or start a thread.

Cheers and keep up the good work!

Thanks Ferrantepunto,
I definitely agree with your point about the browser not returning you to the thread you just posted in. I didn’t write the code for it, but maybe I can trace through it and find a way to fix it. Say, how are you at coding ASP?

Actually a major issue and higher priority to me is to get this forum upgraded from Access driven to SQLServer. We crash an average of once per month, sometimes staying down for a couple of days before my ISP finds a way to recover it. I’m pretty sure SQLServer would make for a much more stable environment, not to mention handling unlimited simultaneous users…

Thanks for offering your assistance. I’ll be back with your new job title!

Tom

Hi Tom,
And thanks for your warm welcome (I´m still laughing…). About my ASP programming skills, unfortunately, they are not in my current knowledge level, but I think that some of my fellow coworkers can help on this issue. If you have questions about SQL Server, I can pass them to them also, they are experts on that matter.

By the way, have you considered migrating this forum to another forum system like phpBB? I used to use it some time ago and it is very good. (It doesn´t return you to the main page after posting or replying to a thread, among other things).

Well, let´s get this forum rolling!

Take care.

Thanks Ferrantepunto,
Ow, but my head’s starting to hurt with more things to consider! Ok, I’ll take a look at migrating.

Hey! A few minutes ago when I replied to your post in the Humor forum, I wasn’t returned to the main page. It took me back to the thread I responded to, as one would expect. I wonder what’s up with the inconsistency?

And when I submited the above reply, I was returned to this topic. I’m not clicking on anything after I submit the post. I’m just patient for a couple seconds. Maybe we’ve been clicking on the navigation folders to hurry the process and that’s what confuses the system?
Oh, yeah, and there’s that «Back to Forum» link that appears. I think I was clicking that. If that’s the culprit, it should be easy enough to remove!

Hi Tom,
It´s really strange. When you log on, the forum automatically takes you back to the main page. This can be specially annoying, but it is not serious. This post is to verify that the return function is working properly. I promise that I´m going to be patient and not to touch anything to see what happens.

Cheers.

Doesn´t work. I´ll try to wait a little longer…
No, definitely it doesn´t work. It always return me to the main page. Perhaps is a function only available to the administrator?

Take care.

Don’t think so because I have frequently gotten the same results you describe…
